Jessica Harris - Music Therapist

"Music reflecting and enhancing your mind and body"

My love for connecting with and supporting people of all ages and abilities then led me to music therapy and in 2010 I completed my Masters in Music Therapy at UL. I have provided music therapy to clients across a wide range of populations and ages including within Autism Initiatives Ireland, Bloomfield Health Services, the Central Remedial Clinic, Lois Bridges, Ballymun Music Project and established the music therapy department within the Royal Irish Academy of Music. I have introduced and developed music therapy services as being of integral value towards wellbeing.

My passion extends towards wellbeing and health within corporate workplaces through delivery of bespoke workshops integrating music therapy practices to enhance wellbeing and team dynamics, tailored to directly match and enhance your teams' needs.

As an Oboist and contemporary vocalist Jessica completed her BA in Music Performance at The Royal Irish Academy of Music Ireland followed by an MMus at the Royal College of Music London.  Jessica has performed throughout Ireland and the UK with orchestras and ensembles including The National Symphony and National Concert Orchestras of Ireland.

Her interest in Music education and young people in particular led her to teaching in the UK where she specialised in contemporary voice, including musical theatre and has supported many students to reach their potential including achieving distinction at grade eight level.

Music Therapy was a special interest of Jessica's from a very early age in her musical career and In 2010 she completed her Masters in Music Therapy at the University of Limerick.

During her studies she specialised in working with children and adults with developmental disabilities (including ASD) and adults with Acquired Brain Injury. Jessica now practices as a Senior Music Therapist extensively across Dublin and surrounding counties within a range of health care and community settings - these include Beechtree and Glengara park nursing homes, Bloomfield health centre, ASDI Autism initiatives, St. Michael's House, Central Remedial Clinic, Social Circle, Lois Bridges.

Jessica is attached to  Royal Irish Academy of Music and DIT Ballymun Music Network.  She presents workshops and information programmes using her carefully developed music therapy strategies to the corporate sector and to both healthcare and education providers and groups.
